Relationships

The subject of relationship counselling can be a sensitive area for couples especially at a time when you are preparing for your marriage.  There is all the fun and fancy of wedding preparations, you are in love, you think nothing will go wrong, the world is your ‘oyster’ and life will be wonderful.  That is one side to marriage.  There is another – the reality of day to day living with your spouse, the events, the hardships, children and their challenges etc.

As a Celebrant it is important that I discuss with you both what you can do when or if difficulties occur.  There are numerous services available to you where you can discuss your problems and seek resolution especially before it is too late.  It is wise to acquaint yourselves with these services so that you can feel rest assured there is someone out there to help in times of need.

The organisations can be viewed on line and your choice can suit your needs, your location, and what feels right for you.

There are religious and non-religious organisations, group or individual counselling, on-line counselling for those who are unable to attend personally eg. rural areas, disabled, overseas or if that is a more comfortable setting for you, DVD’s to view at home etc.

The services provided by these organisations encompass many of life’s stages and challenges – from bringing home baby, financial difficulties, violence, cultural differences, stepchildren etc.  Whatever your personal situation, there is a service available for you.

There are even organisations which cover before marriage information.

Take the time to view these websites to prepare for your future together so your loving and happy relationship can be an enduring relationship.
